Mavic Pro - LPN Ryder Cup & Solheim Cup
Equipment Used: DJI Mavic Pro, Apple iPad, Lightroom & Photoshop CC
In August, Lake Panorama National GC hosted its member Ryder Cup and Solheim Cup tournaments and I sent the Mavic Pro up to capture the golf carts and players during the shoot outs and also on the 1st and 18th tee.
I controlled the drone while seating in a golf cart with the iPad and DJI’s Go4 app and varied the height of the drone from 34 to 260 ft. To get the panoramic images, I rotated the drone to take images at different angles. The clouds in the sky were a little gray during the Ryder Cup so I didn’t get very good exposures of them with the drone since I was shooting in a quicker manner.
Once the files were in Lightroom, I set the preset to golf course 1 and changed the white balance to cloudy. The contrast slider was adjusted to increase the colors and then I used graduated or radial filters to adjust the exposure in certain areas of the image. I merged the pano images into one panoramic image in LR as well.
Using Photoshop, I used the healing and clone brush tools to get rid of unwanted objects like cart signs and bunker rakes. Since the majority of the adjustments were made in LR, I didn’t use Photoshop very much to edit these images.
